The Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is a perfect choice for people that rarely hike or trek. This trek is categorized as easy. It introduces you to majestic Himalayan ranges without any difficulty. The highest altitude on this trek is only 3210m Pun Hill. This easy trek mesmerizes you with lush green Rhododendron and oak forest, rivers and landscapes. The teahouses you spend every night certainly holds mountain views on the backdrop. Terraced fields, cluster thatched roof houses and bamboo forest have decorated the trail even more.
After passing villages of Ulleri, Tadapani and making a stop at Ghorepani, wake up earlier for pre-dawn walk to Pun Hill. The Photographers’ Paradise is a famous vintage point for the breathtaking sunrise view. Gaze at more than 60 mountains that extends as far as you can lay your eyes on. Superb views of Mt.Dhaulagiri (8167m) on west, magnificent Annapurna Range over 80 km on north besides Machhapucchre and Manaslu (8163m) on northeast can be seen.
The best time to do this trek would be in Spring(February-May) and Autumn(September- November). Nature enthusiast also loves to travel the region in winter and summer when the trail is less crowded.
